Neurodivergent Rising:

Reclaiming Sanity in an Insane World

Neurodivergent Rising was born from a simple but transformative question:

What if nothing was ever wrong with you?

For generations, neurodivergent people have been taught to understand ourselves through the language of disorder, deficit, and dysfunction. We believe it is time for a new conversation.

Our work brings together neuroscience, lived experience, systems thinking, and an intersectional decolonizing approach to explore a radically different understanding of neurodivergence—one that honours neurodivergent ways of being while inviting us to re-examine the assumptions that shape mental health, education, healthcare, and society itself.

Our Approach

Our work is:
* Neurodivergent-led
* Evidence-informed
* Relational
* Systems-aware
* Intersectional

We support neurodivergent adults in reclaiming trust in themselves while equipping professionals to recognize and respond to neurodivergence with greater depth, humility, and compassion.

Rather than asking how neurodivergent people can better adapt to the world as it is, we ask what becomes possible when we begin questioning the assumptions upon which that world has been built.

Meet Kristina Kyser, PhD

I am the Founder and Lead Educator of Neurodivergent Rising.

Before founding NDR, I spent more than thirteen years as a Registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor.

I hold a PhD in English literature from the University of Toronto and advanced training in several psychotherapeutic modalities. I have dedicated my career to understanding what it means to transform and heal.

My own late diagnosis of autism and ADHD shifted not only how I understood myself, but how I understood the clients I had spent years trying to help.

I began to see that many experiences we label as pathology are often understandable responses to environments and systems that fail to honour the full diversity of human minds.

Neurodivergent Rising emerged from that realization.

Whether you are a neurodivergent adult seeking a different way of understanding yourself or a professional committed to transforming your practice, we invite you to join us.

Because when we change the stories we tell about neurodivergence, we change what becomes possible—not only for neurodivergent people, but for all of us.

Love from our students

I’ve been through years of therapy and can intellectualize my way through anything—but this integration of body, systems awareness, and lived experience cuts through that. It’s changing how I work with my clients and students.

This course is revelatory. Scientifically informed and profoundly anti-empire and anti-racist. The spiritual component to this course speaks to my soul. I am more than the shame that was stamped into me.

This program is so profound to me. It holds this rare balance of solid science, lived experience, and real upliftment. It’s helping me so much to reframe my neuro-divergence as something social, relational, meaningful. Understanding the operating forces brought a huge shift for me — it helped me understand myself with more clarity, and a lot more kindness.
